Technovative Solutions Ltd (TVS), a leading Digital Battery Passport (DBP) provider in Europe, is now a member of the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA). This alliance will undertake TVS’s commitment to driving innovation, sustainability, and circularity in the European battery value chain, creating an eco-friendly battery industry. BEPA currently brings together 248 organisations from 24 countries.

BEPA is the international non-profit organisation representing the private side of the BATT4EU Partnership. It gathers the European battery community willing to contribute to the ambitious upcoming Research & Innovation Batteries Partnership under Horizon Europe. The main activity of BEPA is to provide input and advice to the European Commission in order to contribute to the identification of priorities of research and innovation activities and the definition of call topics to be included in the Horizon Europe Work Programmes.

Beyond research guidance and other activities, BEPA supports the development of EU regulations on battery standards, especially on safety and sustainability. The EU Battery Regulation (2023/1542) mandates that all industrial batteries (capacity > 2 kWh), electric vehicle (EV) batteries, and light means of transport (LMT) batteries must have a Digital Product Passport (DPP) by 2027.

Meanwhile, through DigiProd Pass Ltd, TVS has also launched DigiBat Pass, its own DBP solution designed to help battery manufacturers embed sustainability and circularity throughout their products’ lifecycles. DigiBat Pass streamlines compliance, making it easier for companies to align with the upcoming regulation. TVS is also developing the DBP platform for the Battery Passport for Resilient Supply Chain and Implementation of Circular Economy (BASE) project. TVS is creating the DBP (Digital Battery Passport) platform in this project, which will be validated in cross-sectoral applications, e.g., road and waterborne transport and stationary energy storage applications.

Salauddin Sohag, Head of Product & Promotion at TVS and Managing Director at DigiProd Pass Ltd (a spin-off of TVS), commented on the new alliance, “This strategic collaboration aligns with TVS’ mission to deliver digital innovations that empower a sustainable and resilient future. By combining our expertise, experience, skills, and knowledge, both BEPA and TVS will contribute to creating a more livable planet while facilitating the EU's implementation of its battery regulation.”
