Weathering the Storm, Forging the Future

Resilience means overcoming adversity and navigating challenges with the right skill sets. It means adapting, evolving, and maintaining core identity amidst change. To manage extreme weather events, we develop diverse resilience concepts and tools.

Climate Adaptation

Scientific evidence confirms human activity's significant role in accelerating climate change. Transitioning to a climate-resilient society requires citizen engagement and empowerment to prevent further damage. At TVS, we develop tools for climate assembly operations, serving as building blocks for a sustainable future.

Disaster Resilience

Climate change, marked by increased extreme weather events like cyclones, floods, heat waves, droughts, and wildfires, poses significant risks to people and their assets, particularly in urbanising and developing areas. We are committed to developing a multi-actor decision support platform that enables diverse stakeholders to contribute effectively.

Societal Engagement

There's a pressing need for a human-centered platform that fosters citizen engagement and empowerment with the support of all stakeholders. In response to this imperative, we are developing a citizen engagement platform that brings together representatives from diverse backgrounds to voice their opinions.

Services we provide

Citizen Engagement Platform

A tailor-made engagement platform for stakeholders to engage with citizens or the community in decision-making.

Interactive Spatial Multicriteria Analysis (SMCA) tool

SMCA tool combines qualitative and quantitative data and produces maps useful to managers and stakeholders to estimate risks and preferences. TVS’s SMCA tool supports in developing the risk maps for multi-hazards due to climate change.

Hazard Monitor App

Hazard Monitor App uses citizens as sensors to collect geospatial data to generate new information relevant to disaster risk management and increases awareness of citizens by providing real-time updates on local active hazards, and hazard impacts.

Our Projects

CLIMAS

The CLIMAS (Climate change citizens engagement toolbox for dealing with societal resilience ) project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101094021 & UKRI Grant Agreement no. 10064734) aims to develop an innovative problem-oriented climate adaptation toolbox codesigned with stakeholders by applying a values-based approach, design thinking methods, and citizen science mechanisms. The toolbox will anticipate possible tensions, points of controversy, and dilemmas and enable engagement strategies that produce a society ‘resilient by design’. In this project, TVS is co-creating the climate change citizens' engagements Toolbox for regional and local entities.

C2IMPRESS

C2IMPRESS (Co-Creative Improved Understanding and Awareness of Multi-Hazard Risks for Disaster Resilient Society) project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101074004) aims to bring a radical paradigm shift to disaster and hazard research and innovation by moving from a traditional ‘hazard-centric’ approach/ framework to a novel ‘place and people-centred’ integrated multi-hazard risk and resilient assessment framework. TVS brings its innovative ICT expertise and DSS (Decision Support System) development, supporting digital transformation across different industries. TVS is developing the SMCDA, disaster observation and monitoring portal, app, and platform and leading the project's D&E activities.

CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC

CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC (Fair Data and Innovative Services for Magnifying the Climate Adaptation potential of European Communities) project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101188248) is part of a combined goal to continue to develop the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) so that it becomes a fully operational enabling ecosystem for the whole research data lifecycle. Open and FAIR data is expected to be the new norm for research contributing to adaptation to climate change. In the Project, TVS will develop Climate Adapt toolkit and provide Big Data Analytics service to support climate adaptation.
