Digital Product Passport (DPP)
Technovative Solutions Ltd. (TVS) is advancing the development of Digital Product Passports (DPPs) to enhance data sharing and to create industrial data ecosystems across diverse manufacturing sectors. This effort is pivotal to the European Commission's strategy for a green, digital, and circular economy. TVS has already created DPPs for products like EV batteries, wind turbine blades and railway parts while developing DPP solutions for textiles, furniture, plastics, automobiles, marine and aerospace sectors.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
We are developing bespoke LCA tools for different industrial sectors to evaluate environmental impacts throughout a product's lifecycle in compliance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards and the PEF-based method. These tools aid companies in creating regulatory-compliant Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and sustainability reports in a customised, economical, and user-friendly manner.
Circularity Calculator
TVS’ Circularity Calculator is a comprehensive tool that guides designers and other stakeholders to implement effective circular strategies. By providing in-depth analysis and data-driven insights, the module assists in identifying opportunities for resource efficiency, material recovery, and waste reduction throughout the product lifecycle. This enables teams to make informed decisions that support sustainable design and contribute to the broader goals of a circular economy.
Technology we use
DLT and Blockchain
TVS exploits Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and Blockchain infrastructure to create immutable Digital Product Passports (DPPs), enabling secure and authenticated data upload and retrieval.
CATENA-X & GAIA-X
TVS enhances data interoperability and reusability within federated data spaces for managing and exchanging DPP data, which seamlessly integrate with existing data ecosystems and standards, including CATENA-X and GAIA-X.
AI and Machine Learning
TVS leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to enhance data exchange mechanisms among various actors in the value chain.
Our projects
JIDEP
The JIDEP (Joint Industrial Data Exchange Platform) project (EU Grant Agreement no.101058732 & UKRI Grant no. 10037998) focuses on reusing industrial data to support a new generation of data-driven services. TVS is developing JIDEP platform consisting of Digital Product Passport (DPP) framework, Circularity Calculator, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool, Collaborating tool, and Digital Marketplace. The DPP will be validated in three cross-sectoral applications (Automotive, Renewable energy & e-waste recycling).
Consortium Partners:
RESTORE
The RESTORE (Sustainable Remanufacturing Solution with increased automation and recycled content in laser and plasma-based processes) project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101138775 & UKRI Grant no. 10112149) introduces sustainable-by-design remanufacturing processes and materials, alongside supporting tools for the digitisation of the remanufacturing ecosystem. TVS is developing RESTORE platform consisting of a Decision Support framework, ecoDESIGN framework, Blockchain-enabled Digital Product Passport framework and Digital Marketplace to help facilitate additive remanufacturing process. The DPP will be validated in four cross-sectoral applications (Railway, Manufacturing, Marine & Automobiles). Our solution in the project will deliver enhanced traceability, greater transparency, and better operational efficiency.
Consortium Partners:
ALABAMA
The ALABAMA (Adaptive Laser Beam for Additive Manufacturing) project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101138842) aims to lower the porosity and tailor the deposited material's microstructure by shaping the laser beam, both temporally and spatially, during the Additive Manufacturing process. TVS is developing Digital Product Passport framework and the interoperable Data Platform for additive manufacturing process in this project. The DPP will be validated in three cross-sectoral applications (Aerospace, Marine & Automobiles)
Consortium Partners:
BASE
The BASE (Battery Passport for Resilient Supply Chain and Implementation of Circular Economy) project (EU Grant Agreement no.101157200) was funded under the call “HORIZON-CL5-2023-D2-02-03: Creating a digital passport to track battery materials, optimise battery performance and life, validate recycling, and promote a new business model based on data sharing (Batt4EU Partnership)”. TVS is responsible for creating DBP (Digital Battery Passport) platform in this project, which will be validated in cross-sectoral applications e.g., road and water-borne transport, and stationary energy storage applications.
Consortium Partners:
GearUp
The GEAR-UP (Green Engineering, Analysis, & Reskilling for Unbounded Production) Project (EU Grant Agreement no. 101178484) aims to develop digital tools and methodologies that address recycled materials’ variability. It also emphasises environmental conservation by using recycled materials in engineering design, significantly reducing virgin resources, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. In this project, TVS will develop GEAR-UP platform and Digital Product Passport (DPP) for manufacturing industries. The DPP will be validated in three cross-sectoral applications (Robotics, Hydropower & Fibre Reinforced Plastics)
