Critical Materials & Battery Value Chains Europe 2026

Critical Materials & Battery Value Chains Europe 2026 is a two-day event taking place in Brussels on 18–19 May, bringing together stakeholders from research, industry, and policy to address key challenges in Europe’s upstream battery value chain.

BASE's consortium partner, European Lithium Institute eLi, joined the Li4LIFE EU Project and the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster | ISMC as an organiser. The event will focus on raw material sourcing, processing, recycling, sustainability, and regulatory alignment, supporting the development of a resilient and transparent battery ecosystem.

The first day will feature expert focus groups designed to foster in-depth technical discussions on processing and recycling, exploration and mining, sustainability and life cycle assessment, as well as the role of the battery passport in enhancing traceability and compliance.

The second day will host a high-level policy seminar, exploring strategic themes including the social licence to operate, life cycle assessment of the lithium value chain, the implementation of the European battery passport, and policy alignment under the Critical Raw Materials Act.

Welcoming a diverse group of experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, the event provides a valuable platform to exchange insights, align on regulatory developments, and explore opportunities for collaboration across the battery value chain.
