Dr Mahfuza Ahmed, Collaborative Research Leader at Technovative Solutions Limited, joined TVS in 2018 to lead various Horizon Europe, H2020, and UK projects and to collaborate on research and development of innovative products and processes with the consortium partners. She also participates in both local and international meetings to present project progress and deliver technical reports on tasks led by TVS.

Throughout her long and distinguished professional career, she has gained an in-depth understanding of the geothermal sector, which includes sustainability analysis of geothermal plants and innovative technologies, welding, and the development of 3D and planar Silicon technologies. Moreover, she is experienced in developing decision support systems of the economic and environmental performance analysis for the geothermal, welding, and waste heat recovery industries.

Dr Ahmed has worked on numerous big and flagship projects around the world, including the ROSE collaboration project to develop radiation-hard silicon detectors and the 3D silicon detector for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN; FP7 project for developing the In-Beam TOF PET for medical applications; and NASA’s 'JUNO mission to Jupiter' project. The list also features Horizon Europe’s nGEL project, GeoSmart & GeoHex projects under H2020, the ReComp project of the UK government, etc. Through contributing to such projects, she has earned profound expertise in project management.

Dr Ahmed is experienced as an academician as well. She has completed a PhD from Brunel University, UK, in silicon detector development, worked as a Professor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, and served as a visiting academic at the University of Manchester, UK. Furthermore, she was a post-doctoral research scientist at the University of Oxford, UK.
