The #JIDEP consortium organised a workshop on 8th of May focused on fostering business resilience and designing sustainable business models for the JIDEP platform. The workshop provided a dynamic forum for participants to engage deeply in identifying key capabilities essential for enhancing the resilience of systems, whether at the organisational, tactical, and strategic level.
The participants gained a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between resilience capabilities and sustainable business model design. Thanks to the active participation and contributions of attendees, the workshop on business resilience and resilience capability design was a resounding success: it provided a valuable platform for advancing the discourse on enhancing resilience in today's dynamic business landscapes as well as valuable input for the design and development of sound JIDEP business models.
The participants leveraged innovative methodologies such as brainwriting, card technique, and brain thinking to work on capabilities that foster business resilience design. By the application of the methodology of brainwriting, the workshop was to highlight the importance of responsiveness capabilities in navigating today's rapidly evolving business environment. Participants explored strategies to enhance risk management and redundancy, business continuity management and planning as well as reliability engineering. By the application of the brain writing method, participants were able to tap into the collective intelligence of the group, generating a diverse array of ideas and solutions. The workshop underscored the critical role of cognitive capabilities in building resilience within businesses and industries. By application of the card technique methodology, the workshop participants identified activities that contribute to the development of cognitive capabilities: stakeholder interaction and co-creation, organisational knowledge and learning, as well as organisational sensemaking and leadership, which were identified as pillars for fostering a resilient organisational culture and mindset. The card technique provided a structured framework for organising and prioritising these ideas. In the third part of the workshop, the participants discussed the concept of dynamic capabilities as drivers of resilience. The participants discussed about strategic foresight, innovation agility, and ecosystem collaboration. This brain thinking session encouraged participants to foster a culture of innovation and exploration.
